The Archbishop of El Salvador Oscar Romero was murdered 35 years ago as he celebrated Mass on 24 March 1980.
Archbishop Romero was vocal in his publicising the abuses of those in power of the Central American country.
His Sunday sermons were broadcast around the country. Milagro Granados, a young reporter, recorded his sermons and on the day he was shot dead by lone gunman she was in the church standing by the Archbishop.
In Witness from the BBC Milagro Granados gives a moving account of her experiences that day for the first time.
