Would you like to nominate someone for an outstanding local community service award?

Sale Rotary Club is now open to nominations for the third year of its annual “Tom Morris Community Award”.

This is a “people’s honour” for normally unsung heroes who believe in what they do and go the extra mile to help make Sale a better place to live. The award is named after distinguished former Sale Rotarian the late Tom Morris, who ran a local milk and dairy delivery service. His framed award names each year’s winner who also receives a cash award.

It’s all about community – for the people, by the people.

The first award winner was Simon Youd whose community scheme “Skillz FC” was changing the face and the future of Sale’s “racecourse” estate for primary school children to the over 50s and unemployed residents alike.

Last year the winner was Daniel Gallacher whose tireless work for disabled people in Trafford tackles the issues that affect their daily lives.

This year it could be anyone from any area of local life. If you know someone who is worth a special ‘thank you’ contact grahamking@btinternet.com with the details.
